Worship

Current Series
Humanity, Interrupted
It’s natural to want to be left alone: no one telling us what to do; no one stopping us from doing as we please. Because we are often our own worst enemies, however, God loves us far too much to just leave us alone. From the beginning of time and until earth’s last day, he has interrupted our fallen human race through the work of his Holy Spirit. The Spirit’s work through God’s Word is the way God continues to save us from ourselves.

Lutheran Worship Is...
Gospel-Centered
Lutheran worship is not defined by a particular style or sound. It isn’t limited to the experience of Christians who lived at one particular time or place. Rather, what defines Lutheran worship is our conviction that the gospel, or good news, is the power through which God is active and at work among us. Through the gospel, Jesus himself is present in our midst to deliver the priceless blessings he won for us through his life, death, and resurrection.
That’s why our weekly services put the gospel on center stage. Our services include specially-selected Bible readings, carefully-crafted songs, a solid, relevant message, and time-tested prayers and creeds. Some of what we do is old. Some is new. All of it is full of the good news of Jesus. All of provides relief from life’s distressing noise.

Active & collective
Lutheran worship isn’t just something a few people up in front do while everyone else passively watches and listens. We benefit when we hear the good news from and share the good news with one another. That’s why Lutheran worship is designed to get everyone involved in delivering the good news.

Timeless
Lutheran worship isn’t permanently stuck in the past or endlessly chasing an ever-changing present. We benefit both from worship that stays fresh and that stays stable from cradle to grave. That’s why Lutheran worship uses songs and prayers, and a structure for its services that include the contributions of Christians from every age.

For Head, Heart, & body
Lutheran worship doesn’t seek simply to provide you with information on the one hand or manipulate your emotions on the other. We benefit from worship that forms us as whole persons. That’s why the rituals, songs, and actions of Lutheran worship are designed to touch both head and heart and actively involve the body.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the service last?
A typical Sunday service lasts about an hour. After the service each week, we have time for coffee, food, and conversation. You’re welcome to stay for as long as you’d like.
What should I wear?
Don’t be overly concerned about it. Certainly don’t feel like you need to try to impress anyone. We aren’t worried about what you’re wearing.
Where should I sit?
Feel free to sit wherever you’d like, whether way up front or all the way in the back. If you need some assistance finding a seat, an usher will help you.
Will I be put on the spot or asked to say anything?
No. When you walk through the door, you’ll probably be greeted by some friendly people who want to introduce themselves. Once the service starts, you’re welcome to participate if you feel comfortable or quietly observe.
Will I be able to keep up with what’s going on?
While there may be some elements of the service that are new or unfamiliar to you, we try hard to make it as easy to follow along as possible. You’ll get a printed order of service that’s easy to follow. A screen in the front of church also helps people follow along.
What about my kids?
We love having children in our services. They’ll hear the good news from you and, before you know it, you’ll be hearing it from them. To help parents with small children, we provide...
- A children’s devotion tailored specifically to children designed to help them learn from God’s Word.
- A nursery with a television and speakers where parents can take restless children if needed.
- Children’s bags with books and activity sheets that kids can work on during the service.
- Plenty of helping hands, including from moms who have been there, that are ready to assist if needed.
